Empathy First Responders (EFR) started as a movement to address the emotional toll on first responders, sparked by a tragic incident where a young responder died from burnout-related suicide. This death highlighted the need for empathy and support, leading to EFR's formation to provide mental health resources and foster a compassionate community.
